WHAT WE BELIEVE:

Mount Zion Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) is a Gospel centered, liturgically blended traditional Lutheran church. We celebrate God’s grace in Jesus Christ as our Savior. We are a theologically conservative congregation holding fast to Scripture. The church is very much God's building but it is a building made of people, not bricks and mortar. Our foundation is Jesus Christ, died and Risen. The Bible is our framework, through Law and Gospel showing us our sin so that we might see our Savior. Like a roof, the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion are the visible means by which the Holy Spirit shelters us with His grace and love. The Lutheran Confessions, including the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds, are our walls – a clear statement of what we believe, teach, and confess. Prayer is the mortar that holds this together. Fellowship, joy, and Christian hospitality, hallmarks of our congregation, ornament and beautify God's house. We'd like to share this with you.

WHAT WE ARE DOING:

God has called us all here and now to bring Christ to others through Word and Sacrament; building up every person in Christ within the congregation  and reaching out to others in the community around us. We welcome those who have not yet heard of Christ as well as those who are not active in a Christian congregation.

We are a family oriented and a family sized congregation with a variety of ministries: Sunday Worship 9:00am, Bible Study, Sunday School and Confirmation, Fellowship activities, Men’s Club, Bell Choir, Adult Choir, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, social ministry in the community (food bank, clothing drive, visiting care centers), prison ministry at Maricopa County Jail, Vacation Bible School, and youth ministry. We directly support foreign missionaries and a student and his family at one of our synodical seminaries. In 2007 we will welcome a Director of Christian Education Intern as part of our ministry for the upcoming year. Their focus will be on education, youth, and family ministry.

The Cross is the central focus of our congregation. We'd like you to be a part of this ministry.
